It is in a very quiet spot but is within easy walking distance of Inver Village and Frosses where you can experience a more traditional way of Irish life.
Surrounding Area:
It is ideally remote for the person who wants to get away from it all for a few weeks. Yet, it is at the heart of everything that is beautiful about Donegal. Just ten minutes down the road is Inver beach. Donegal town, with excellent Hotels and every other facility is twenty minuets away. Killybegs, Irelands biggest fishing port, is also twenty minutes away. The drive from Killybegs through Kilcar and Carrick to Glencolumkille with its breathtaking sea views and mountains is a painters paradise. Carrick is the starting point for the spectacular drive to Sliabh League, the highest sea cliff in Europe.
There are lakes, rivers and miles of sea where the fisherman will find all kinds of fish in abundance. Portnoo or Murvagh, which are about forty minutes away are where the golfer will like to spend the day. Scuba diving is becoming more popular by the day with new dives being explored. Hillwalkers will have unlimited scope to walk to their hearts content. For daily and weekly worship, churches of all denominations are to be found locally.
From the cottage there are views of the sea, hills and countryside. It is a place where you will be able to appreciate the best of humour in a relaxed atmosphere. Ideally we are situated on a quiet rural road but only 1Km from the main Donegal – Killybegs road.
The Village of Frosses,1km away, has a church and 2 bars (one of which has music) and a supermarket. In the opposite direction (1km) is The Milltown bar, which also has live traditional and country music.
